Background

Curtis Trenkelbach has learned the industry from the ground up. He grew up in the construction industry and attended Texas A & M University from which he graduated with a Building Construction degree. Upon graduation, he launched his construction career as a field superintendent. After a few years he was quickly promoted to Estimator and then onto Project Manager. In the late 80’s, he was chosen to relocate to Charlotte to open a new Regional Office that covered North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

In 1990, with a reputation of integrity, knowledge, and innovative solutions, Curtis founded InterCon Building Corporation. Its goal was to construct a product of superior quality, on schedule, at a very competitive cost, and to provide clients with a level of service that far exceeds expectations. Since then, Curtis has passed on that same philosophy to a company-wide team of very capable professionals who have successfully completed over one hundred commercial and industrial buildings, including on numerous occasions, complete business parks in Charlotte and the surrounding area.

In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he also believes strongly in supporting and contributing to the Charlotte community and has served as a board member of the Charlotte Symphony, NAIOP, Charlotte Wine and Food, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Post-Construction Storm Water Ordinance-Stakeholder’s Group, and the Boy Scout Troop 17 Committee. He also serves as Chairman on the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Business First Business Retention Committee, an organization which is committed to be proactive in retaining and expanding Charlotte’s employment base of existing companies, while compiling data, identifying broader trends, and thus helping the Chamber improve the local business climate.
